Shannon Barnes img minAttorney Shannon Barnes is Of Counsel to the firm and has practiced in the area Domestic Relations for over three decades. Shannon’s practice focuses on litigation strategy, mediation support, negotiation, limited assistance representation, mediation and collaborative law.

Shannon’s extensive experience as a divorce and family law attorney, as well as her experience in divorce litigation provides her with a unique ability to assist clients in the most efficient resolution of their family law matters. Shannon is also highly experienced in handling post-divorce modification actions, contempt actions and other family law matters. Shannon is committed to maintaining civility throughout the divorce process and assisting clients in reaching sensible resolutions to their divorce and other family law cases.

She strongly believes that family disputes should not be resolved in courtrooms, but instead with the assistance of experienced counsel. In addition to her mediation, collaborative law and litigation practice, Shannon has also served as a Probate and Family Court Guardian ad Litem and currently volunteers her time as a court connected conciliator.

She is currently the President of the Board of Directors for Northeast Legal Aid with offices in Lawrence, Lynn and Lowell, and serves on the Board of Managers for Northeast Justice Center serving Essex and Middlesex County. She is a past board member for North Shore Community Mediation Center, and a past member of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Access to Justice Commission.
