Associate Attorney

Peridot Family Law LLC is an award-winning (and fast-growing) family law firm in Boston, Massachusetts, focusing in the areas of divorce, mediation and collaborative law. 

Job Responsibilities

  • litigation experience, including trial, pre-trial and motion practice

  • management of the discovery process

  • trial and exhibit preparation

  • depositions practice experience, written and oral

  • review documents, prepare timelines and develop case analysis

  • client management, including regular contact with clients via phone, email, etc.

  • collaborate with support staff, attorneys within the firm to manage cases and assist clients with the legal matters

  • drafting correspondence

  • legal research

Experience & Qualifications

  • Massachusetts bar licensed, required

  • New York state bar license, a plus

  • 7–10 years experience in practice

  • existing book of business preferred

This is a hybrid position, with a 50% in-office requirement. On the plus side, we know all the good lunch spots.

 

Paralegal or Legal Secretary

Peridot Family Law is seeking a Paralegal or Legal Secretary for our award-winning family law and divorce mediation practice. The applicant should have an interest in family law, strong IT competencies, a desire to excel in his or her work, and a commitment to putting the client first.

The right candidate for this position will assist with the following tasks including but not limited to:

  • file management including file set-up, file maintenance (electronic and paper) and closing files.

  • scanning files and following up on client communications.

  • ordering supplies; answering phones and performing client intakes and conflict checks.

  • familiarity with Apple products, Clio, and Google Workspace preferred.

  • responsible for preparing and mailing correspondence and other administrative duties which are delegated by attorneys and supervising paralegal.

  • assist with acquiring records, assembling materials, drafting documents and document production.

  • client contact in the form of meetings, phone calls and e-mails.

  • may also assist with trial preparation and preparation of trial notebooks.

  • preparing exhibits, email management and calendar systems.

  • other general administrative assistance.

In addition to the aforementioned tasks, the applicant should type at least 55 words per minute and have great attention to detail, including grammar and writing skills.

Salary is commensurate with experience. Medical/retirement benefits. NOTE: This position does not require a law degree and JDs should not apply.

We offer four quarterly exhibition slots per calendar year in the walls of our Financial District office for art that aligns with our mission, values and holistic focus on wellness through themes such as families, relationships, caring, connection, healing, transformation, nature, light, peace, relaxation and growth.
